Surrounded by skilled relatives who handcrafted unique pieces using amber and precious metals, Nelly, the founder of Nelly Ley Jewellery, grew up immersed in a world of tools, textures, and creative expression.
From a young age, Nelly was captivated by the art of jewellery making. Sketching intricate designs and observing traditional techniques in family workshops, she developed a love for both design and metalwork. This natural fusion of creativity and craftsmanship laid the foundation for her future in bespoke jewellery.
In 2005, Nelly began her professional jewellery journey in London, refining her skills through formal education and hands-on experience. After completing her diploma in jewellery design and several specialist courses, she went on to work in the renowned jewellery quarter of Hatton Garden. There, she gained invaluable insights into fine craftsmanship, hand engraving, enamelling, and gemstone setting—skills that now define her signature style.
Nelly’s dedication to excellence led her to pursue gemmological qualifications, allowing her to source and hand-select rare and ethically sourced gemstones from around the world. Each stone is chosen not just for its beauty, but for its story—adding a personal, meaningful touch to every commission.
